Surge Protective Devices

Maxivolt Product Lines

Quality SPDs for Transient Voltage Mitigation

Maxivolt surge protective devices (SPDs) are engineered for safety, durability, and performance. Every device features integrated fusing, a non-ground-dependent design, and custom-sized hybrid suppression circuits optimized for demanding applications. Connection conductors are soldered directly to the suppression circuitry to minimize impedance and improve response time.

Durable non-conductive enclosures are finished with catalyst-hardened paint to withstand rugged environments while reducing touch-safety concerns. Permanent labeling ensures clear identification throughout the product’s service life. Each device undergoes rigorous testing and can be customized to meet specific application requirements.

Proudly handcrafted in the USA, Maxivolt SPDs are available in dozens of standard configurations to protect industrial, commercial, residential, and municipal facilities from transient voltage. Product lines include the GuardDog®, ICP, MV, and WS Series. If a standard model does not meet your requirements, our team can design and manufacture a custom integrated or external surge protection solution tailored to your application.

Protection on two levels

The GuardDog® WRG-Series is the premier line of Maxivolt products. Primary and secondary protection circuits give clients a redundant layer of protection in the event the first level of protection expends. SenseTech® form C dry contacts are provided standard on both protection layers. An optional audible alarm can be added to either the primary or secondary protection circuit. Every device is hand made in the USA and goes through a rigorous and demanding testing process. GuardDog® WRG-Series products feature hybrid circuits consisting of only the highest quality components engineered to provide a clamping threshold for the specific voltage application they are designed for. Safety fusing and the non-ground dependent design eliminate safety risks associated with competitive devices. The various benefits of WRG-Series products provide clients with a quantifiable payback.

Features and characteristics:

Maxivolt's original Device

The MV-Series is Maxivolt’s original product line. Modifications through the years have improved the already legendary performance of these devices. The line has been expanded to 17 standard models covering virtually every type of AC power system in the world from 120 VAC to 600 VAC.

Features and characteristics:

PERFORMANCE & FLEXIBILITY

Maxivolt engineers designed the ICP-Series to provide sensitive individual circuit protection. The ICP Plus, ICP-CRA, and 420-RW were later introduced to expand the application and communication versatility of the line. ICP devices require a standard octal 8-pin base to install, are available in series and parallel configurations, and provide an alarm pin for device status monitoring. ICP Plus and ICP-CRA devices provide dry contacts for device status monitoring.

Features and characteristics:

SERIOUS MEDIUM VOLTAGE PROTECTION

The WS-Series was designed for medium voltage applications from 1,000 VAC – 5,000 VAC. In 2013, the WS-5KV was introduced to replace the WS-4160. Every device is custom made for the specific operating voltage of the equipment to be protected and goes through a rigorous and demanding testing process. WS-Series products feature hybrid circuits consisting of only the highest quality components engineered to provide an industry best clamping threshold. Integrated safety fusing and the non-ground dependent design eliminate safety risks associated with competitive devices.
